Mt Cook
What better place for an Easter hunt than the great outdoors that's full of rabbit holes, perfect for depositing eggs in? Turns out putting them basically underground made the hunt quite hard and there was a bit of exasperated stomping around!! The girls were lucky that I didn't hide the eggs. I wanted to hide them all the way out into the distant bush which would've enlarged the search area by about five to ten times, then there would have been some moaning for sure!!
Now this one doesn't look that hard to find does it... alas that was not the case!
Back to the hut for reading, lunch and well more reading!!!
The girls being slightly crazy ;-)
The Hooker Valley completed (didn't take my camera) with it's copious amounts of board walks and swing bridges (that aren't very swingy) and it was home for tea. Countless numbers of 'dice' followed, which the girls were particularly good at winning!
It's always hard to leave and we could have done with a few more days there. I only read 1/3 of my book!! The hot pools in Tekapo were calling though so we departed in the rain.. ahhh lovely rain.
